[poweroften] Reminder: Rally Tonight in Spring Valley

The following is from Andrew Mandel of Strong East Ramapo:

Dear Supporters,

Tomorrow may be the last day of the New York State Legislative Session, so tonight is our rally in Spring Valley's Memorial Park at 7 p.m. We hope to see EVERYONE there, with your family, friends, co-workers and neighbors.  It will be an incredibly special evening, and you won't want to miss it.

We will be advocating for Senate Leader John Flanagan to bring S. 3821 (the Senate version of A. 5355, the strong bill that passed the Assembly on June 11) to the full Senate for a vote.  The attempts at compromise have been unsatisfactory, and there is no time for more deal-making.  S. 3821 is supported by so many credible institutions, from the Rockland County School Boards Association to the Rockland Business Association to the Rockland Board of Rabbis to the NAACP.  We at least deserve the Senate to take a VOTE on the bill.

If you are coming from New York City, you can take the 5:23 train from Penn Station to Spring Valley, changing at Secaucus.  Memorial Park is a few short blocks from the station.  There's a convenient 8:30 bus back to the city.

In the meantime,  please call Senator Flanagan (518-455-2071) today and say, "My name is X.  Please bring S. 3821 to a vote!  The East Ramapo oversight bill has passed the Assembly.  We deserve a Senate vote!"

Thanks, everyone,

Andrew
